Team's progress:
We had the beta last week and the feedback from the prof and TA were good as they liked the game. We need to keep working on the project before the final submission next week. There was a bug in the demo with the new waypoint system i added that i need to fix. Teleporting after killing the boss shouldn't take you to the last waypoint but to the beginning of the level. Besides that we have been working on finishing up the last batch of sprites for the final boss which is one of the few things left besides polishing off the game and a healing mechanic. A couple of my teammates had a big 445 showcase today so they have been busy this week. Same for me, as I had other projects to work on all week. I'm confident we'll be able to get a lot done over the weekend and through next week as well.
My contributions:
-added 2 new parallax backgrounds
-added new sprites for area 2, made tiles, and created area 2
-added ladder climbing mechanic
-added fire animations
-added climbing animations to guardian
-fixed bug with orb counter not increasing when picking them up
-added damage from fire
-tuned parameters within the game for a better experience
-refactored code on guardian script to fix some issues with not taking damage
-tested different states when player enters boss room, kills boss, dies to make sure things like boss door opens closes, essence appears after killing boss, etc.
-fixed bug with teleport skill not changing the y value of the orb that is shot through
-implemented waypoint system
-added waypoints to area 1 and area 2

Reflection:
Accomplished a lot of stuff since the last journal for the beta presentation we had this week. Most of it was done over the last weekend though. I had to catch up on other projects over the last few days. I will be working on the project over the weekend again. Main things I'll be focusing on are the cinematics on boss rooms, regenerative healing for the player and a potion seller you can buy from with orbs you collected.
